African Islamic History – Black History Month 2025

This Black History Month, we journey into our shared heritage by uncovering the golden and rich history of Africa – a continent of 54 nations and countless stories of resilience, faith, and unity.

Black Muslims make up more than 10% of British Muslim communities. In order to build a future where racism, nationalism and classism does not divide us – it is important that we emphasise our shared history and learn more about African Islamic history.

Our African Islamic History Series will open with Why Every Muslim Should Learn About African History, before exploring the remarkable histories of Nigeria, Sudan, the Horn of Africa, and finally, the inspiring stories of African converts here in the UK.

This five-part webinar series is designed for all Muslims – an opportunity to learn from the past, reflect on the present, and envision a stronger future. If we are to realise our Vision 2050 of unity, empowerment, and service, we must begin by reconnecting with the foundations of our history.

✨ Join us on this journey. Discover, reflect, and be inspired. Register now to secure your place in this powerful webinar series.
