Urgent Improvements Needed to Protective Security for Mosques Scheme
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement last Thursday 23 October of a funding boost to the Protective Security for Mosques Scheme, the Muslim Council of Britain has sent an updated briefing paper with urgent recommendations to the Home Office for improving the scheme based on feedback captured from mosques who have been struggling to get any response to their applications as well as facing challenges in getting in touch with the Home Office after submitting applications in many instances months ago. It is unacceptable that vulnerable mosque applicants are having to wait many months, and in some cases years, for their applications to be processed and vital security support provided.
