The Muslim Council of Britain congratulates all candidates standing for London’s Mayoral elections in 2016. We urge all the candidates to engage with London’s diverse Muslim communities who help contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of our city.

The Candidates from the three main parties are Zac Goldsmith from the Conservatives, Sadiq Khan for Labour, Caroline Pidgeon for the Liberal Democrats and Sian Berry for the Green Party.

Dr Shuja Shafi, Secretary General of the MCB said, “I congratulate all the candidates standing for the Mayor of London. It is an important role, encompassing housing crisis, policing, economic development as well as the environment, which I hope the new Mayor will successfully fulfil. Muslim Londoners will be looking forward to engage with all the candidates, and for a healthy debate about the future running of our capital city”.
