A year after the “Punish a Muslim Day” letters were sent to Muslims across the country, as well as all of our Muslim Parliamentarians, the white-supremacist behind the hate campaign was imprisoned for up to 12 and a half years last week.
The letters are just one part in the increasing climate of Islamophobia that Muslims are starting to face. We must always be on our guard against the spreading of fear, racism and hate in our society – and must come together to fight all forms of discrimination as one.
The MCB welcomes this recent prosecution, and hopes that it brings greater safety and security to our communities in Britain.
