Data source: This data is extracted from the 2011 Census for England and Wales. Amongst the census questionnaire was the religion question: ‘What is your religion?’ The data has been made available by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in ONS Table DC2107EW and has been analysed in the MCB report, “British Muslims in Numbers” (2015) in Section 4.4 – Focus on Youth. British Muslims in Numbers was published by the Muslim Council of Britain. The report offers a frank snapshot of the state of British Muslim life based on numbers taken from the 2011 Census.
