Data source: This data is extracted from the 2011 Census for England and Wales. Amongst the census questionnaire was the religion question: ‘What is your religion?’ The data has been made available by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in ONS Table LC3203EW and has been analysed in the MCB report, “British Muslims in Numbers” (2015) in Section 5.3 – Health and Disability . Strong correlation of self-declared bad health in previous census data with mortality rates is sited in BMJ study at: https://www.bmj.com/content/329/7471/887
