Asalaamu Alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,
On behalf of the Muslim Council of Britain, I would like to wish you all a joyous Eid.
Eid al-Adha represents the dedication and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, in following a command of God. I pray that the dedication of Muslims around the UK and across the globe will also be strong, in the face of increasing anti-Muslim prejudice and difficulties facing our communities.
Whilst we celebrate with our families and loved ones, it is important to remember those around the world who are suffering and help in using whatever abilities we have by either donating to one of our established charities or campaign with others in raising a voice for those who are destitute or suffering from oppression. From Sierra Leone, to Syria, to Palestine, Rohingya and beyond, we pray that their suffering will be eased and justice prevails.
Eid Mubarak.
