The report sheds light on the growing demands for elderly care service in Muslim communities in the UK, with key findings including:
- The number of Muslims aged 65 and over is estimated to increase from 110,000 in 2011, to 450,000 by 2036.
- 38% of Muslim women aged 65 and above self-declared having bad or very bad health.
- Muslim social entrepreneurs, charities and philanthropists have a role to play in investing in projects and organisations that can serve the growing elderly Muslims in the coming decades
The report was produced by the MCB Research & Documentation committee in collaboration with the University of Cambridge.
