The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) was honoured to be hosted by Wolverhampton City Council to mark Islamophobia Awareness Month.

During the visit, the MCB’s Secretary-General was deeply inspired by the facilities providing essential community support, including NHS services and relief efforts for asylum seekers and refugees.

We had the privilege of touring the iconic Molineux Stadium, home of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. As Chief Guest, the Secretary-General participated in a vital discussion on the pressing need to combat Islamophobia, particularly in the wake of the UK’s summer riots. She shared powerful reflections on the importance of unity in combating hate, the necessity of adopting clear definitions of Islamophobia, and the shared responsibility to take meaningful action against discrimination.

We extend our gratitude to Wolverhampton City Council for hosting this pioneering event—the first of its kind in the city. It was a privilege to participate in such an impactful initiative that brought communities together.
