n 2014 we are challenging you to Live Below the Line with just £1 per day for 5 days to spend on food and drink – the reality for the 1.2 billion people who live in extreme poverty and survive on this amount every day for everything, not just their food.
Live Below The Line is a unique opportunity to feel connected and stand in solidarity with the world’s hungriest whilst gaining a new perspective on your lifestyle choices and experiencing the simplicity of our Prophet’s (pbuh) ways.
Join a whole host of people who will Live Below The Line with MADE in Europe this year including Dawud Wharsnby Ali, Shaykh Ibrahim Moghra, Ali Imdad, Shelina Janmohamed, Mo Ansar, Fatima Barkatullah, Soraya Janmohamed, Shemiza Rashid and Hassen Rasool.
Live Below The Line is a vital fundraiser for our work to train young Muslims to become campaigners and lead the fight against injustice, tackling poverty at its source. We believe the immense challenges of poverty, hunger and climate change require more than just charity aid. By focusing on our young people, we’re creating a long-term and powerful movement for change.

Last year’s participants
Don’t just take it from us! Here’s what some of last year’s participants had to say:
“Live Below The Line was a humbling reminder to learn from the life of our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who taught us to live humbly, to seek moderation in all things, and to be stewards on this earth. The challenge is a powerful realisation of unequal access to food across the world and how different things could be if we were all a little bit more responsible.”
– Samia Aziz, 2013 Top Fundraiser
“Being part of the ISoc means we do charity work all the time, but we found this campaign VERY creative and were interested to know whether we could do the challenge. It was an inspiring week, a difficult one but VERY rewarding. Being students at university means we’re exposed to new experiences and challenges, and this is something that I think everyone will benefit from experiencing!”
