Israel’s murder of at least 300 Palestinians in Gaza during last night’s assault cannot go unchallenged. The Muslim Council of Britain condemns this attack in the strongest terms, which follows weeks of deliberate suffering inflicted through electricity cuts, food blockades, and the killing of children as they slept.
As families across Palestine observe Ramadan in darkness and hunger, this escalation of violence extends beyond Gaza to other parts of the Occupied Palestinian Territories such as the West Bank, where countless more lives have been lost with minimal international outcry.
Mass murder is being committed by a government whose leader is wanted for war crimes.
The empty words and inaction from many governments worldwide, including our own in the UK, have emboldened Netanyahu’s administration to act with impunity. Their lack of meaningful action speaks volumes.
