The Muslim Council of Britain condemns the violent raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli forces during the month of Ramadan, injuring over 152 Palestinians, according to medics.

MCB Secretary-General, Zara Mohammed said:

“The world witnesses yet again unrestrained violence against worshippers at the Al Aqsa Mosque by Israeli forces. This is a desecration of one of Islam’s holiest sanctuaries at the holiest time of the year: the month of Ramadan.

With the same love and compassion we rightly show to those victims of war in Ukraine, the world must also seek an end to the violence perpetrated by Israeli forces against the people of Palestine. It is heartbreaking to see this indiscriminate violence against women, children, and the elderly by the might of the Israeli forces.

We call on our British government to demand an immediate end to the violence and aggression.“
