MCB Holds Fringe Meeting At Conservative Party Conference

The Muslim Council of Britain is holding a fringe meeting today at the Conservative Party conference to discuss how political parties can ‘Connect with British Muslim Voters’.

Iqbal Sacranie, Secretary-General of the MCB, will be urging greater engagement of the Conservative Party with the Muslim community and is due to say:

“The key task for the Conservative Party is to build trust with British Muslim voters. The Conservative Party needs to address key domestic policy concerns including poverty, social exclusion, Islamophobia, discrimination and the misuse of counter terrorism powers. ”

Mr Sacranie will also be congratulating Michael Howard “for taking the fight against the racist politics of the BNP to the front line, and re-emphasising Conservative Party principles that, in essence, welcomes all, including Muslims.”

Mr Michael Howard, the Leader of the Conservative Party will be attending the MCB Fringe Meeting which will be taking place at 5.45 pm today (Wednesday 6th October) in the Stour Whole Room, BIC, Bournemouth. The other panellists at the meeting will include: Dominic Grieves, MP and Tim Boswell, MP.
