The MCB is looking for a self-motivated, resourceful and creative individual to join MCB as a Marketing & Fundraising Officer. The post holder will be responsible for developing and optimising community fundraising by setting-up strong volunteer networks across London and various key cities in UK in consultation with the MCB Fundraising Committee. This includes coordinating local appeals/events to maximise income and implement key fundraising strategies of MCB. The post holder will need to travel across the UK to different cities for fundraising appeals and should be willing to travel when required.

The Marketing & Fundraising Officer will work closely with mosques, local donors, community leaders, volunteers and supporters and will be responsible for communicating MCB’s work to existing and potential new donors.

The Officer will be required to make brief appeals at mosques and events during fundraising campaigns highlighting why MCB support is needed in these challenging times.

The Successful Candidate will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in fundraising and generating funds
  • Skills in recruiting, supervising and developing volunteers for fundraising initiatives.
    •    Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to motivate and manage volunteers
    •    Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload as they will be in frequent contact with local schools, businesses, mosques and community groups.
    •    Experience of maintaining and developing databases with the ability to report on the local market, development strategies and income and expenditure.
    •    Exceptional communication, networking and organisational skills.
