This year marks the 74th year anniversary of the Nakba, day of catastrophe, in which more than 750, 000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes.
Zara Mohammed, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain said:
“Today is Nakba Day, where Palestinians recall the tragedy of being driven from their homes. 74 years on, the Palestinian people live under apartheid. The murder of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh this week reflects how Israel continues to act with impunity.
Our government should reflect on its shameful policies towards Palestinians: recognise Palestine, and call Israel to account. End the apartheid.”
