The MCB Secretary-General was honoured to attend the Armed Forces Eid Reception at RAF Northolt.
Heartfelt reflections on Hajj by AFMA Champion Air Marshal Martin Sampson and Gp Capt Jon Hough were most appreciated.
Endorsed by the MCB, Imam Ali Omar Ali, Squadron Leader and the first imam to receive a commission in the Royal Air Force, also shared some poignant reflections.
This inclusive event united serving Muslim military personnel and the Military Chain of Command, including the esteemed AFMA Champion Air Marshall Martin Sampson and Air Vice Marshal Revd Dr Giles Legood, head of Chaplaincy in the Royal Air Force. Also in attendance was Lady Sheikh, a long-standing patron.
The event’s purpose was to nurture and promote a better understanding of all faith and belief groups. Through education and networking in a social and interactive setting, it aimed to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion, sharing various cultures and experiences, and, ultimately, enhance the lived experience of both serving and civilian personnel in Defence.
