MCB Secretary-General joined celebrations for Eid-al-Adha at Butchers’ Hall, as keynote speaker for their first ever, Eid Al Adha reception.
The event recognised the contributions and efforts from those across the halal meat sector, now a great contributor to the UK economy.
MCB Secretary-General shared several important reflections, highlighting how food is a powerful way to break barriers as well as the importance of halal to Muslims faith and lifestyle choices.
It was important to reflect on the early generations struggle to establish halal and now to consider how readily available it is, a great thanks to those who continue to drive the sector.
This historic event which was supported by NFU (National Farmers’ Union) and AHDB – Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board.
Liverymen and representatives of the Muslim community dined together for a specially inspired meal, sponsored by WCB Corporate Partner Pilgrim’s UK and Hill Farm Finest.
A cheque donation was presented by The Master, Andrew Parker, from the Company’s General Charities to Islamic Relief UK
