The Muslim Council of Britain Secretary-General was also included in the list, responding to the recognition, Zara Mohammed said:
“I am deeply honoured by this recognition, as the first female Secretary-General it has been a great privilege to serve communities and this award is a really touching recognition for these efforts.
Despite the negativity Muslims are normally tarnished with, this list is uplifting, acting as a force of good, a reminder of the power of young people and how they are making change. I feel proud to be featured amongst them.
I was delighted to meet so many of the winners at the launch event including Abdullah, the security guard who saved the life of a young girl in Leicester square.
My warm congratulations to all those featured. I hope the list will be a great source of inspiration and my thanks to both Emerald Network and Aziz Foundation for serving as platforms for showcase the best talent within British Muslims.”
