On July 26, the Labour government stated it will not pursue questions on the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) jurisdiction over Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant. The MCB welcomes this announcement as it marks a noteworthy change in the government’s approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The Government’s decision not to challenge the ICC’s jurisdiction represents a step towards greater alignment with international legal standards and a reaffirmation of the UK’s commitment to upholding the rule of law on the global stage.

We must continue to be a leading example for human rights and international law. We hope this will support and strengthen justice for Palestine. This decision has the potential to contribute significantly to the pursuit of justice for Palestine and to set a positive precedent for other nations to follow.
