The MCB Leadership team were pleased to meet with some of our key affiliate groups in Bolton, June 21st 2023.

Ummah Welfare Trust
Our leadership team had a really insightful visit with our affiliate Ummah Welfare Trust, meeting their Chair Muhammad Seedat. We learned of the great work the charity is doing around compliance and ensuring donors have full transparency of where money goes and that aid gets to those it is intended for. The charity also is working to service local community with hardship funds and grants.
It was refreshing to see the commitment to good governance and community building locally and internationally, we thank them for the warm welcome.
MCB Secretary- General and Assistant Secretary-General met with the team at Bolton Council of Mosques (BCOM) at their community centre.
Representing 28 mosques and 30,000 Muslims, BCOM seek to advocate, advise and support local communities for positive social change.
It was good to hear of the work they are doing in funeral provision for the community, the only place to have 24hour on call service. A great achievement because of their work with local partners and providers.
It was also welcome to hear of the provision for counselling, youth clubs and mosque guidance on key issues such as safeguarding. BCOM serve as a key affiliate in the region and a great partner for future work.

Zakariya Mosque
Our team also met with some of the management of Zakariya Mosque, with a grand tour of the facilities and a view of their vast provision of services. It was a fruitful visit to the North.
