Attack of Islam’s third holiest mosque and ongoing violence against innocent civilians in Palestine

April 7th 2023

In the holy month of Ramadan we have witnessed attacks by Israeli occupation forces on worshippers in Al-Aqsa Mosque; heavy bombardment upon the people of Gaza – the world’s largest open air prison, with more than 2 million people under Israeli occupation – ; and the continued violence of the occupation of the Palestinian territories generally.

We urge the international community to take action to end the occupation of Palestine; to uphold the rights and security of the Palestinian people; and to bring an end to unwarranted violence and aggression.

We offer our prayers to the families of those affected by these attacks, and we affirm our solidarity with all those who seek a peaceful and just future for all, be they Christian, Jewish, Muslim; of all faiths and none.
