The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) unequivocally condemns the latest Israeli air strike in Gaza, killing eight Palestinians workers and independent journalists documenting humanitarian work on behalf of UK-registered charity Al-Khair Foundation.

These latest atrocities are a continuation of attacks on humanitarian workers and civilians, even during what is supposed to be a ceasefire.

Dr Wajid Akhter, Secretary-General of the MCB said:

“For over 16 months, we have witnessed systematic and repeated attacks on those delivering life-saving assistance, as well as on journalists reporting the reality on the ground. The killing of humanitarian workers is a flagrant violation of international law and must be met with unequivocal global condemnation. Israel’s allies have a moral obligation to acknowledge these atrocities and take decisive action to ensure such grave breaches of international humanitarian law are brought to an end.

We call upon the British government to condemn these actions in the strongest possible terms.”

Al-Khair Foundation is an international Muslim aid NGO based in the United Kingdom and Turkey. It is the third-largest Muslim charity in the UK and was established in 2003. The foundation aims to deliver aid to the poor and vulnerable and education for the Muslim community throughout the world.
