The Muslim Council of Britain expresses its deep condolences to the victims of the earthquake in Nepal on Saturday that has left thousands dead, with many more injured, missing or displaced. The official death toll for the earthquake currently stands at just over 5000 whilst about 6500 are reported injured.

Nepal’s prime minister, Sushil Koirala, has warned that the death toll is likely to increase to 10,000, whilst the United Nations has stated that 8 million people have been affected by the earthquake – which is more than a quarter of the country’s population.

As the nation struggles to provide relief to thousands of survivors, many of MCB’s affiliates are collecting donations to help the people of Nepal. The MCB encourages everyone to donate generously to help those desperately in need. Below is a list of affiliated charities that are raising money for Nepal:

Al-Imdaad Foundation

Al-Mustafa Welfare Trust

Human Appeal International

Islamic Relief

Muslim Aid

Muslim Hands

Ummah Welfare Trust
