On 6 February 2019, Maswood Ahmed, Assistant Secretary General of the MCB and chair of the Education Affairs Committee had a productive meeting with Rudi Eliott Lockhart, CEO and Ffiôn Cook, Finance & Operations Manager of the Religious Education Council (REC) of England and Wales.
The REC is working together to strengthen the provision of religious education in England and Wales and MCB is an affiliate member. This was an important meeting to discuss collaboration and scope for working together to influence policy and practice in education relating to Religious Education in England and Wales.
With the support of the MCB, the REC will also be holding its General Meeting in November 2019 at the London Muslim Centre & East London Mosque.
