The Muslim Council of Britain has written to the Iranian Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Mr Rasoul Movahedian, to convey its request to the Iranian leadership that the 15 detained British service personnel be released swiftly on humanitarian grounds.
“The dispute over where these personnel actually were when they were detained can and should be resolved amicably through direct discussions between our government and that of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The most important priority now must be to see these service personnel released without delay so that they can return to their families,” said Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain.

The Muslim Council of Britain has consistently worked to improve relations between our country and Iran, and we are keen to ensure that no unnecessary obstacles are placed in their way.
