MCB Secretary-General, Zara Mohammed and Assistant Secretary-General, Mariam Hassam recently engaged in a productive discussion with the Transport of London Commissioner Andy Lord and the broader team on the recent surge of hate crime.

The TfL team provided assurances of the heightened safety measures they have implemented to protect Londoners, combat hate crimes, and ensure accessibility across the city.

MCB SG shared a heartfelt appreciation to the Transport for London team for an insightful discussion with Commissioner Andy Lord. Their conscientious efforts to ensure the safety of Londoners in light of the recent surge in hate crimes are commendable with their commitment to intensify actions against Islamophobia in this month were very welcome.

The TfL shared points on seeking to improve confidence of those using the network, facilitating ease of access during weekend protests and ensuring mechanisms by which people can alert offences to any staff for support.
