Orphan/widow support scheme

A comprehensive scheme demonstrates excellence by upholding the sacred amānah (trust) and riʿāyah (care), providing stability to vulnerable families and strengthening the organization's social impact and credibility. Delivery must preserve karāmah (dignity), avoid stigma, and apply non-discrimination while prioritising need through transparent criteria.
Amānah
The divine trust and responsibility to safeguard the property and rights of orphans and widows.
Sadd al-dharā’iʿ
Blocking the means to harm; justifies strict safeguarding boundaries and supervision to prevent abuse.
Al-ḍarar yuzāl
Harm must be removed; mandates active risk assessment and intervention to protect vulnerable beneficiaries.
Bayt al-Māl
The public treasury historically used to manage and protect the assets of the vulnerable.
Maqāṣid al-Sharīʿah
Aligns with preservation of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), intellect (ḥifẓ al-ʿaql), progeny (ḥifẓ al-nasl), and wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl).
Riʿāyah
The foundational principle of pastoral care that obligates the community and its leaders to care for the vulnerable.
Karāmah
Human dignity; ensuring support is delivered without stigma or humiliation.
