CWE-FSH-02 Compassion, Welfare & Environment Family & Social Harmony CORE Excellence v2.9.7

Post-marital/family counselling service available

Assesses the provision of professional, confidential counselling to uphold family stability. By facilitating reconciliation (sulh) and mercy (rahmah), the organization strengthens the community's core unit. Crucially, this service also supports dignified separation (tasrih bi-ihsan) where reconciliation is not possible or safe, ensuring the prevention of harm (la darar) and the protection of rights.

Fiqh Principles

Sadd al-dhara'i

Blocking the means to harm; used to justify prohibiting joint sessions where abuse is suspected.

La Darar wa la Dirar

No harming and no reciprocating harm; prioritizes safety over reconciliation attempts in abusive contexts.

Zulm (Oppression)

The prohibition of oppression necessitates that counselling restores rights and does not enable abusers.

Satr

Concealing faults, applied via robust confidentiality, but limited by the obligation to prevent harm.

Islamic Concepts

Sulh

Reconciliation, pursued only when safe and just.

Tasrih bi-ihsan

Release with kindness/excellence; the Islamic concept of dignified separation/divorce.

Amanah

Trust; the counselling relationship is a trust requiring professional integrity and safeguarding.
