CWE-FSH-04 Compassion, Welfare & Environment Family & Social Harmony CORE Excellence v2.9.7

Parenting support or classes offered

Assesses whether the organization provides courses, workshops, or support groups to equip parents with skills and knowledge for raising children within a framework of Islamic values and positive parenting practices. In Islam, children are considered a sacred amanah (trust), making effective tarbiyah (nurturing and education) essential for family harmony. By empowering caregivers through these educational resources, the organization actively supports the maqasid (higher objectives) of hifz al-nasl (preservation of lineage) and cultivates a righteous, well-balanced society.

Assessment Questions
  1. What parenting courses, workshops, or support groups does the organization offer? Describe their frequency and format.
  2. Is there a structured curriculum for the parenting programs? How does it integrate authentic Islamic teachings (e.g., Tarbiyah, Raḥmah) with contemporary positive parenting practices?
  3. How are facilitators or instructors selected and prepared to deliver the content effectively and sensitively?
  4. What mechanisms are in place to gather feedback from participating parents, and how is this feedback used to refine and improve the offerings?
  5. Does the organization assess the impact of its parenting support on families? Does it share its expertise or resources with other organizations?
  6. What safeguarding arrangements (DSL, DBS, ratios, risk assessments, LADO escalation) and online safety controls are in place?
  7. How is this programme represented in the charity risk register (safeguarding, H&S, data, reputational risk) and how often do trustees review it?
  8. Have you completed a DPIA and what is your lawful basis/retention? Do you have Article 28 contracts for third-party tools?
  9. How do you adapt for SEND/neurodiversity, language, and father engagement? Do you have a formal Inclusion Plan?
  10. What evaluation tools (pre/post, follow‑up) do you use and what outcomes have you achieved? What is your measurement protocol?
  11. Do you provide childcare and, if so, have you documented an Ofsted/EYFS threshold assessment and confirmed insurance/ratios?
  12. What partnerships or signposting pathways support families with higher needs?
