Student-outcome tracking & staff CPD

Assesses whether the organization systematically tracks student progress and learning outcomes across academic, spiritual, and character domains, and uses this data—alongside stakeholder voice—to inform a structured, evidence-based Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program. This approach embodies the principles of Tarbiyah (holistic nurturing), ensuring that Ilm (knowledge) and Tazkiyah (spiritual purification) are effectively cultivated in learners. Furthermore, empowering staff through continuous development reflects the pursuit of Ihsan (excellence) in the sacred trust of education.

Assessment Questions
  1. Does the organization have a documented 'Outcome-to-CPD Operating Procedure' and 'Assessment Framework' covering academic, spiritual, and character domains?
  2. How do you ensure data reliability? Describe your moderation process for spiritual/character rubrics (e.g., double-marking samples).
  3. How is outcome data disaggregated (SEND, gender, disadvantage proxy) and used to inform an Equity Action Plan?
  4. Describe the GDPR governance in place: Do you have a ROPA, vendor DPAs, and have you conducted a breach response exercise?
  5. How does the board oversee this area? Provide examples of decisions minuted from the termly outcome dashboard.
  6. How is Shūrā (student/parent voice) systematically collected and used to validate data and shape CPD?
  7. How does the CPD design meet evidence-based standards (e.g., clear goals, modelling, practice, follow-up)?
  8. What evidence demonstrates that CPD has led to measurable improvements in student outcomes or gap closure?
Evidence Requirements
  • 'Outcome-to-CPD Operating Procedure' and 'Assessment & Outcomes Framework'.
  • Termly Board Pack/Dashboard showing attainment, gaps, CPD impact, and risk register entries.
  • Board minutes evidencing decisions/interventions based on data.
  • GDPR Documentation: ROPA (Record of Processing Activities), blank DPA template or signed vendor contracts, breach response log/plan.
  • Equity & SEND Action Plan with progress updates.
  • Moderation logs showing double-marking of ≥10% samples and agreement rates.
  • CPD Calendar and materials showing alignment to data-identified needs.
  • Shūrā evidence: Survey results or focus group minutes and subsequent actions.
  • PDP samples (anonymised) showing goals linked to student data.
Scoring Guidelines
LevelRatingDescription
5 5/5 Integrated system with predictive analytics; ≥70% CPD linked to data; sustained gap closure (disadvantage/SEND gaps narrowing); external moderation; board actively manages risk via data; effect sizes/rubric shifts verify impact.
4 4/5 Robust tracking across all domains with moderation (≥10% sample); documented Operating Procedure and Equity Plan active; Shūrā (voice) integrated; CPD meets evidence standards; GDPR fully compliant (ROPA/DPAs).
3 3/5 Systematic tracking and some CPD linkage; basic disaggregation; moderation is ad-hoc; GDPR controls basic (privacy notice/DPIA only); limited evidence of impact on teaching.
2 2/5 Minimal tracking (academic only) or ad-hoc CPD; no formal moderation or disaggregation.
1 1/5 No formal tracking or staff CPD.
