Educator CPD hours

Assesses whether educators meet a minimum target for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours annually, ensuring they remain up-to-date with best practices in teaching, safeguarding, and subject knowledge. The system includes a 'Role Competency & Training Matrix' to manage risk-based requirements (e.g., DSL, SENCO, EYFS), a specific 'Volunteer Educator Pathway' for non-employed staff, and mandatory induction modules before unsupervised delivery.

Assessment Questions
  1. Does the CPD policy explicitly define qualifying activities, verification rules, and separate targets for volunteers vs. employees?
  2. Is there a 'Role Competency & Training Matrix' that tracks Safeguarding, Prevent, Online Safety, and EDI status by role?
  3. Can you demonstrate that induction CPD is verified before any unsupervised contact with learners?
  4. Do PDPs include a 'Niyyah & Service Intention' field, and are they reviewed annually?
  5. How is the impact of CPD evidenced beyond attendance (e.g., reflection logs, observation rubrics, artefacts)?
  6. Does the Board/Trustees receive a termly L&D dashboard highlighting compliance risks and corrective actions?
  7. Are CPD records included in the RoPA, and are Data Processing Agreements in place for any external LMS?
