Environmental Education and Awareness Initiatives

Assesses whether the organization conducts structured, evidence-based environmental education and awareness initiatives for its community, evaluating its commitment to raising awareness about environmental responsibility from an Islamic perspective while ensuring regulatory compliance. Such initiatives reflect the duty of Tarbiyah (education and nurturing) to cultivate a deep understanding of Khilafah (stewardship) over the Earth. By fostering ecological consciousness, the organization honors the sacred Amanah (trust) of preserving creation, empowering individuals to actively participate in Hifz al-Bi'ah (environmental protection).

Assessment Questions
  1. How does the organization plan and execute its environmental education initiatives, and does the plan include owners, budget, and KPIs?
  2. Show the 'Green Claims Substantiation Log' and the process for reviewing environmental statements against CMA/ASA codes.
  3. What specific Islamic principles (e.g., Isrāf, Fasād) are taught, and who provides the scholarly sign-off for the content?
  4. Provide evidence of the measurement protocol used (pre/post quizzes, follow-up surveys) and the most recent outcomes dashboard.
  5. How are safeguarding, H&S (including RIDDOR), and accessibility (captions, adjustments) ensured for all events?
  6. Demonstrate GDPR compliance for outreach: show the ROPA, privacy notice links, and consent records (including parental consent for children).
  7. What competence/qualifications do the trainers/speakers possess regarding environmental science?
  8. How does the organization use feedback and outcome data to improve the next year's program?
Evidence Requirements
  • Annual Environmental Education Plan (including budget, owners, risks, KPIs).
  • Samples of educational materials with verified Islamic citations and evidence of scholar sign-off.
  • Green Claims Substantiation Log and content approval workflow records.
  • Pre/post quiz templates, anonymised results dataset, and 30-day follow-up survey report.
  • Outcomes dashboard showing reach by segment, awareness gain, and behaviour adoption.
  • Event risk assessments, safeguarding plan, and H&S incident log (RIDDOR if applicable).
  • GDPR artefacts: Record of Processing Activities (ROPA), privacy notices, and consent/opt-out logs.
  • Trainer CVs/qualifications and CPD records.
  • Minutes of annual review meetings showing PDCA decisions based on data.
